Gift to Annual Fund Has Impact on Concert Series, Athletics, Scholarships

First Realty Group of Pulaski got a big “thank you” recently from the Martin Methodist College Concert Choir for helping to underwrite the choir’s spring break trip to Germany.

Following the choir’s Tuesday afternoon rehearsal, the 50-plus members gathered in front of Martin Hall to show its appreciation to Robert Brindley Jr. and his agents and associates for their financial support that helped send the choir on a 10-day, six-performance tour of Germany. But that wasn’t the only result of First Realty’s generous financial gift to the college, said Pat Ford, director of the college’s Annual Fund. He said that the gift also:

• Sponsored the Richard Leigh and Friends “Meet Your Neighbor” Concert in January, part of the college’s Della Clayton Lee Cultural Arts Series.

• Sponsored two RedHawk men’s and women’s basketball doubleheaders during the February, also part of the community-wide “Meet Your Neighbor” activities.

• Contributed to the Giles County Campaign, which provides scholarship funds to all Giles County residents enrolled at Martin Methodist College.

“We’re so appreciative of the support that First Realty Group has given to Martin Methodist College,” Ford said. “First Realty’s leadership gift had a remarkable impact on students, programs and activities for 2006-07.”

Brindley said his firm is happy to be so involved with the college.

“We at First Realty Group are very proud to be a part of Martin Methodist College,” he said. “By us working with the public and the newcomers to Pulaski, you realize how much of an asset it is for Giles County to have such a college. It is definitely a plus for us and our community.”

TN Valley Realty Ready to Serve

Thursday, May 3, 2007
By Scott Stewart
scott.stewart@gilesnews.us

The name is new but the faces are familiar at TN Valley Realty, which opened its Pulaski office April 1 at 108 S. First St.

TN Valley Realty Broker Terry Mitchell has been in real estate sales and development in Giles County for more than 30 years. He has been a real estate broker since 1987, having worked in development and finance at Brindley Construction from 1975-92 and serving as a consultant from 1992-2007.

Joining Mitchell is Affiliate Broker Tiffany Hagood, who moved from her home town Athens, Ala., to Giles County in 1988.

“We are very dedicated to customer service, with an emphasis on individual attention,” Hagood said of the company’s commitment to its customers. “We are very excited to be a part of a growing community. As our name indicates, we want to be a part of the growth that the Tennessee Valley is experiencing.”

Through his company, Mitchell Associates, Mitchell provided real estate consulting, project development and client development throughout Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama.

Mitchell is a Giles County native. He grew up in the Brick Church community and is a graduate of Beech Hill High School. He attended Martin Methodist College, graduating in 1973, and went on to graduate from Athens State University in 1975. Mitchell served in the military from 1968-72, including a tour in Vietnam from 1968-69.

“Our clients can expect trained, professional realtors that are dedicated to our customers,” Mitchell said, also emphasizing TN Valley Realtors’ dedication to individual attention. “Our many years of experience makes us able to foresee problems that may arise before they present themselves.”

After moving to Columbia in 1992 and graduating from high school there in 1998, Hagood moved back to Giles County in 2001. She is a 2002 graduate of Athens State University.

Hagood has worked locally as a real estate agent as well as working at Brindley Construction and part-time at the Bank of Frankewing while attending college.

Hagood and her husband, James, have a 1-year-old son, Jackson.

Mitchell and his wife, Judy, have two daughters, Amanda Locke and Amelia Mitchell, and one grandson, Elias Locke, who was born in February of this year.

Mitchell and Hagood welcome Giles Countians to come by their office, located just south of the Pulaski Square on First Street.

They also welcome phone calls at their office, 207-8103 or individually — Mitchell, 580-0344 and Hagood, 703-3952.

“We very much appreciate the warm reception that we have received from local business people, customers and friends,” Mitchell said. “We have experienced the feedback that Giles County is ready for a change, and we are very excited to provide that change.”
